This is a video and picture slide show of the morning activities in SoCal on thanksgiving morning. We went out shooting in the desert and a ton of fun. We shot shotguns, rifles, and handguns. While out there we found unopened soda bottles and shaving cream which were a lot of fun to shoot and see explode. We also shot melons that were just laying around out there.

Mid' Autumn Day Splendor

For the past two months David and I have been incredibly busy with school, work, homework, church commitments, raising Kai, and trying to find time for ourselves. It is definitely a hectic life going to school and having a family, but we're proof it can be done. However, there are sacrifices to be made, for example not having time to post anything on this blog. So, this will be a quick summary of all that has happened in the past 6 or 8 weeks.

David and I started our Fall semester and we are both getting into majors. David is really excited about Facility and Property Management. I am equally excited to start teaching. I love my classes and every time I go to the schools I know that this is where I want to be.

Kai is growing up so fast! He is very close to walking, but I'm happy to see him crawl around and he is very fast! We don't get much time together as a family, but we do manage to sneak some sweet moments together at home. We also have found the time to got to BYU football games and volleyball games, attend some of Isaiah's football games, spend time with the Fiso family, and just have fun together.

David and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary on September 15th and David planned a fun weekend and a very nice date night for the both of us. David also had the opportunity to go to Texas for the weekend to his old mission and visit some friends.

I am so happy to have survived the first half of the semester and I am excited to get through this next half. However, I am trying to maintain a positive attitude about school and just focus as much as I can on the small moments I have with David and Kai. Kai is growing up so fast if I don't pay attention I will miss it! David works so hard, I have to make sure to give him love when he is home. So I'm spending as much time as I can with my two amazing boys!

Basketball season is starting and I am having open gym with the girls. I am hoping to have a decent team this year and if we get a few really good players to stay at the junior high level it may even be a great team! I am really excited to be coaching again and I even take Kai to the gym sometimes and he loves it!

End of Summer

After summer term was finally over David and I finally had time to relax and have fun! And most of all to spend more time with Kai! We swam, went wakeboarding/kneeboarding, jumped off some cliffs, and just all around had a good time. For more pictures and videos check out David's blog http://davidfisofpmlab1.blogspot.com/. He created it for a class, but he post all our pictures from Lake Powell and I think it would be "RE-diculous" (ridiculous) for me to do that all over again. (P.S. the above quotation is for any clones reading this blog, all others ignore.)

After Lake Powell we had two weeks off of school and we basically watched 24 the whole time that we weren't playing with Kai. We are now both back in school. Life is crazy with everything going on. David is working full-time and going to school full-time, in addition to being a father of an 8 month old sleep is hard to come by. I am going to school full-time (part of which includes my practicum for teaching), working for my mom part time, coaching girls' basketball (pre-season mostly until November hits), and also taking care of Kai. We are so blessed to have a set of grandparents close to us that are willing to watch Kai while we are at school. I know I could trust no one else to love him and care for him at least as much as I do. They are amazing!

So for now this is farewell, I'm not sure when I'll be able to post again. I am also doing a blog for a class. It's all about using technology in the classroom. If you're interested, check it out at teachtechexp.blogspot.com . See you all later!

David's 25th Birthday

David's birthday was on July 26th and we had a good time together as family. We did the Fiso family birthday dinner for all the July birthdays at Brick Oven and David stood on a chair while we sang.

Then on his actual birthday we all gathered at the Fiso house for food, cake, presents, and more singing. I tried to make him his favorite chocolate pie, but I forgot an ingredient and it didn't set right. Still tasted ok, but there is room for improvement for next year. Kai enjoyed the festivities almost as much as David did. Here are some pictures of our happy celebration.

Pioneer Day

Here are some pictures of our family celebrating Pioneer Day. I never really did this growing up because it's not too big a deal in California. Here in Utah, it is a BIG deal! We didn't go to a parade or on the boat because of bad weather. We did manage to have fun with the family. It was also the last big get together Rick and Lisa cam to before they moved to Detroit. Jaci was also with us and had fun hanging out with Stephanie. Obviously, this was a while ago, but I usually have to wait for a holiday weekend to update the blog because the rest of the time we are both just way too busy. Nonetheless, I want to share these happy memories with all of you. Enjoy!

Kai - 6 months

Kai has grown so fast! Here are some pictures of our little man.

This is Kai's new Sunday outfit. I looked everywhere for a white-shirt type outfit, but this was the best I could find. It's really cute, just not as formal as I was hoping for.

Feeding Kai is an adventure. We're don't have a highchair so we have to make do with what we have and this is the mess we're left with. Don't worry Mom, I got it out of the rug.

July 4 - Wyoming

July 4th we drove to Wyoming with the family for a baby blessing. David's cousin Heather and her husband Jack were blessing their first child, a son they named Boomer. We had a lot of fun with the family and it was crazy to see how big Kai is and how much he has grown. Jaci came with us and she had lots of fun too. We went swimming at the hotel, watched fireworks, and played games together. It was a fun weekend.

Out on the Lake

July 3, the day before we left for Wyoming we went out on Utah Lake and took Kai on the boat for the first time. We had a lot of fun. I tried to wakeboard...and failed. David went out and had fun jumping the wake and showing us all how it's done. We all got sun and were tired by the end of the day.

Third Week in California

First Week in California

Jaci's Graduation:
Kai stayed with is cousins, Joshua and Mikey at the house with my cousins babysitting. Mom, Dad, Uncle Weldon, Jen, our cousin Leslie and I all went to the graduation. Jaci sang the Star Spangled Banner with six other girls, it was performed so well tears came to my eyes. Jaci then proceeded to hobble with her crutches up to get her diploma and all was merry and joyful. Oh and it was extremely windy the whole night.

Horseback Riding:
Kai sat on a horse for the first time and he even went on a little ride while being led by one of my cousins and with me holding him of course. It was also the first time I had been on a horse since David and I got married. It felt good to go riding again. I miss it so much! My family is so awesome to always be so generous with letting us ride their horses!

Swimming:
David and I already took Kai swimming a couple times, but never in an outdoor pool and never with my mom. She is a pro at teaching babies and little kids how to swim. Kai loved to be in the water and he got better and better with time.

Family:
It was a good time for visiting with family. We had a little party for Jaci's graduation, but we also just were able to visit with family and friends who we consider family. Kai loved all the attention, of course.

Jesi's New Haircut

So this is sort of a big deal to me because I've never done anything with my hair before. I've always had it long and I like it that way. Yet, something was wanting to change, I just wanted to try something new. After I got it cut I loved it! I loved it so much I wanted to surprise my family in California, so I didn't post any new pictures until I got there. (One reason for my lack of blog posts.) I even had to get Stephanie to delete some pictures she posted of Kai on Facebook because I was in the background. LOL! It was fun trying to be sneaky. But now that's long and done with so here are some pictures of my new hair style. I'm thinking I might keep it like this for a while, but maybe change it by time basketball starts...

It's Time to Play...

...Catch up on the Blog! So I was in California for three weeks of June and completely neglected to update the blog, so now I am going to smash a month's worth of updates into one post. So the short version is...
My little sister Jaci graduated from high school the first week of June. David and I bought tickets to go for three days a few months ago. Before we left I decided I needed a new haircut to surprise my family with so I chopped off my long hair and started sporting a pixie/bob custom cut courtesy of Ryan Clegg.
Then, David decided he couldn't miss that much school, so it was just going to be Kai and I in Cali for three days.
Then, I decided to work for my mom and that meant staying to train for an extra week, so Kai and I would be gone for ten days. At the end of which we would drive up with my mom and Jaci, who was going to live with us for summer term.
Then, Jaci got injured playing powder puff football. She messed up her knee so badly she required surgery before she could leave. So Kai and I stayed for another week, until we finally came home Friday, June 19. Summer term started for David, Jaci and I Monday, June 22. That was a very busy weekend.
So much happened while Kai and I were in California and David was left all alone. It was really hard for all three of us, but it's easy to forget that, now that we're all together again. Just to get an idea of how much happened here is a before and after picture of Kai (more pictures to come).

Since we've been back we have had a lot of fun together admidst school, work, and sleep. I believe this time in our family's development we will learn a lot as we struggle to balance all of the demands in our individual lives and we will be the better for it!

USSynthetic Annual Crawdad Boil

Saturday, May 16 David's company had its annual family carnival or as they call it "Crawdad Boil". The founder hosts it at his place up the left fork of Hobble Creek Canyon. It's a really BIG place with lots of space and there's always a lot of activities to do. They have vendors come with kettle corn, cotton candy, and shaved ice that the guests get free. They have rock climbing wall, blow-up bouncy slides/obstacle courses, a whole section of the yard is a built in playground with zip-line, swing set, slide and in-ground trampoline; and then the main event, a human slingshot. This year I finally got to ride it. It's huge and lots of fun! David took pictures, but you can find videos of it on YouTube.

Kai liked being around people and being outside. It was fun to talk to David's friends from work and their families. Some of them live close to us so we're becoming good friends. The Keller family just moved in to our apartment complex, Jared works with David and Laurel and I get along really well. They have two adorable girls and they just had a baby boy in April. I spent half the day playing with their little girls on the trampoline, swing sets and bouncy slides; I had fun chasing them around. Anyway it was a fun day out in the sun. Afterwards David and I went to his parents and played volleyball and bandmiton with the new net I got for Mother's Day. It was nice to be active and outside.

Baseball, Baseball, Baseball

Spring is here and summer is right around the corner! The Fiso family has two kids in baseball leagues this year and David and I love to go to the games. We took Kai to his first baseball game and he loved it! He was watching the players on the field, but also watching the spectators. He likes to lay on his blanket on the grass. He's getting really good at moving on his belly, he just scoots and spins around, but he's getting close to crawling. He still loves to lay on his back and kick and move; he's just a happy kid most of the time.

I like to take long walks and I like to take Kai and push him around in his stroller. It's a good way for us both to get out of the house and breathe some fresh air. Plus there are some nice parks around us here in Orem so we take advantage of the nice weather. Kai likes to look around at everything, I don't know if he's really observant or just likes the variety of color, but eventually his baby instincts take over and he usually falls asleep before we get home. It's still fun time for us to be together, David tags along when he has the day off, but we'll do more days at the park the older he gets and when he needs more room to run around.

I was a silly mommy and forgot to put sunscreen on Kai one Saturday when we were at a double header and we both got sunburned. It didn't seem to bother him even when he got little blisters on his nose. Kai is one tough cookie! He likes being with his Grandma and Grandpa Fiso and all his aunts and uncles at the games. Kai also likes to do fun tricks like standing on David's hands or getting tossed in the air. This child is already a daredevil and he's not even five months old yet! I think we're going to have a lot of fun this summer!

Wyoming and Colorado

The first weekend in May our little family took a trip to Wyoming and Colorado. Jesi's college roommate Holly was getting married and we decided it was good time to visit some of David's family in Wyoming while we were out that way. The weather was cloudy and rainy and there were parts of the trip whereit felt like we were driving through clouds, but we managed to arrive safely in Cheyenne. Mike and Nibs, Heather and Jack, and all the younger kids had a dinner with us and some of their friends Friday night. Kai was passed around the table and he loved all the attention.

Back at the house Kai got acquainted with Juke, Jack and Heather's Great Dane.

Saturday was one long and eventful day spent in Colorado. Holly and Colter were married in the Denver temple in the morning and it was a beautiful ceremony.

There was a luncheon afterwards in Colorado Springs were Kai was first taken by the bride, then the groom, then the brides parents. This little Fiso baby almost stole the day with his big blue eyes, bu everyone was having a good time playing with him.

David and I managed to get Kai back and take a break from the wedding pary to visit his cousin Holly who lives in Colorado Springs. It was my first time meeting her and she was quite taken with Kai, no big surprise there. It was so much fun to visit with her.

That evening the theree of us attended the reception where I took way too many pictures, but tried to help out as much as I could. I was even able to convince David to dance with me and then I took my son out on the dance floor for some mommy-son time. The reception was fun and the bride and groom wee so happy.

We had to leave before it got too late to make it back to Cheyenne, but it was fun while it lasted. The nest morning we went to Church with our Butterfield family before making the final trip back home (to Zion as David would say). It was a fun weekend with family and friends.

Family at Graduation

Jesi's brother Rick and his wife Lisa graduated this April from BYU. Lisa graduated with a degree in nursing and Rick graduated with a masters in molecular biology.

The whole Smith family was able to come to Utah for the event and we had a lot of fun together. Jen and Adam showed up on Wednesday with their two boys JD and Mikey and Mom, Dad, and Jaci flew in on Thursday.

Kai was so cute with his cousins and he had a lot of fun getting lots of love and attention from aunts, uncles and grandparents.
Thursday was also Mom's (Terri's) birthday so we had a nice dinner and took some family pictures.

After the ceremony on Friday there were more pictures, with the Wolf family and then lunch at the India Palace and an afternoon at the park with family and friends.

After all the little ones got tired at the park part of the Smith clan went back to our place for fun and Wii games with our cousins, the Bodines. It was a fun weekend and we're so happy for Rick and Lisa. Rick still has some work to do on his thesis and Lisa has a nursing conference to attend in Iceland this summer before they move to Detroit. We're going to miss having them live so close, but we're excited for them. Below are some more pictures of our big family fun!

Another Two Months Gone By

It really is amazing how fast time flies by... I can't believe Kai is about four months now. He is growing so fast and he keeps surprising me with new things he learns to do each day. He can roll over both ways if he wants, but he's very picky about when he rolls over and he usually does it when you're not asking him to. He is also starting to grab onto objects and have more control over his hand movements. He is so smart and handsome, I love this kid.
David continues to work hard with everything he does. School, work and family is a lot for one person to do full time but somehow he gets it done. After his finals are over he'll have a few days to take a break before he starts Spring classes. However, he now has a graduation plan and he'll be finishing his mechanical engineering degree in three years, so there's an end in sight. I on the other hand will start classes up again in June and be done with my History Teaching degree next April. I am so excited to finally begin teaching and hopefully it will be at the same school I now coach basketball.
This Easter weekend David and I bought a scooter. I'm going to assist in a research project at BYU this Spring so we needed two modes of transportation and we thought a scooter would be perfect for one of us and cheap in initial cost and gas. It will be interesting to see how I handle being away from Kai and how he handles "day care" with his grandma, but I think it will be good for all of us in the long run. Having a baby in your life changes everything. Some changes are easy to make and some are hard, but all are worth it!

Kai is starting to hold his head up really well and he loves to sit and stand, but he can't do it on his own yet. David likes to see how long long Kai can hold his balance and he's always there to steady him when he wobbles.

Kai loves his toys. His surfboard tummy mat has little fish in water he likes to move around and his jumper has a mirror he stares at and other toys that make noises and keep him entertained.

Our little basketball player. The National Champions, North Carolina Tar Heels, are David's favorite team, so their jersey hangs in Kai's room, big shoes for a little baby to fill :)

I turned 22 on March 23 and it was fun to celebrate a birthday with my baby boy and my Fiso family. Some of my friends and cousins came to a small birthday dinner. David got me the Prayer at Valley Forge painting which I've always wanted. I was so surprised and happy. I get a little smile whenever I glance at it hanging on our wall.
I just couldn't resist the bathtub picture. Kai is so cute and he loves taking baths.

These are some Easter pictures of our handsome little guy. The first one he is laughing at David and he just looks so happy. I think the one where he's drooling is funny and the last one he looks like he wants to give you a hug. This kid is so much fun, I think we'll keep him around :)

Family Videos...Kai 2 Months Old

Kai is getting bigger everyday and discovering new things even faster. Unlike a lot of babies, Kai prefers the two legged approach to life and is happier while in the upright position that in any other. Today he learned how to start taking steps, and yes I know that he is only 8 weeks old. Can y'all believe that he is already two months old? Below is a video we took of him this evening with his taking his first videotaped assisted steps. I assure you that I am not supporting him that much. His legs are strong enough to support his weight, all he needs to do is gain muscle control and balance. I have a goal that he will be the youngest baby in the world to start unassisted walking.

Water has always been a huge part of both mine and Jesi's lives. We love to swim and to wakeboard and basically do anything and everything in the water. I have often said that I feel more comfortable in the water than in most settings and I believe that to be true. Jesi and I also want to share this love of the water with our kids so we took Kai to the pool to start his experience in swimming. He did fairly well despite the pool being a little chilly for him. Our biggest problem is that we couldn't ever find swimmers [water-proof diapers made for swimming] small enough for him to wear. I am just glad we didn't get caught breaking pool rules since all babies are supposed to have them to get in the pool. I hope y'all enjoy the video of our family in the pool at the Orem Rec Center.

One Month and Counting

Kai is now one month old! I can't believe how much he has grown. He is now about 8 lbs and 22 in long! It's amazing how much he has grown and all the changes that have happened in just four short weeks. He went from eating, pooping, and sleeping all the time to eating, pooping and sleeping most of the time. He is so much more aware now and it's so fun to see how he exhibits his personality. He is a funny kid and he has the cutest smile!

David will do exercises with him where he pulls and pushes his legs and arms back and forth. At first Kai was indifferent, but now he likes it and he will smile when David plays with him. David loves being a daddy and Kai is his new best pal, they like to nap together a lot which gives Mommy a nice break! :)

Jesi loves to talk to Kai and sing to him and see how aware he is of sights and sounds around him. They watch basketball games together and sometimes she can get him to sleep when she does, but not all the time... Jesi loves being a mommy and feels that she and Kai understand each other, even without words. Kai is a good baby when he's peaceful and even when he's not so peaceful. Jesi loves having Kai as her friend.

Jesi's good friend Kira came to visit (in pink in above picture). It was a lot of fun to see her again and to have her spend time with Kai. It was also nice for an extra set of arms willing and wanting to hold Kai even while he cried. Kai liked Kira a lot and was sad to see her go, but is looking forward to seeing her again!

Playing Catch Up

So there was about two months where David and I didn't post anything new. So to fill the gap I am playing catch-up on our blog. Thanksgiving David and I went to California to spend time with family and friends. While we were there we did some shopping, took JD to the park, went to a water polo game (David's first), cut and painted wood hangings for the house, went target shooting with my dad and ate lots of food.
It was extra exciting Thanksgiving day because my cousin Tyler had just gotten home from his mission in Honduras. It was a little shocking to him for his cousin to come in married and pregnant!Somehow he survived and the whole family had a fund day eating and playing ultimate frisbee.

After Thanksgiving I had three large research essays to write and four finals to study and take. Plus, I was expanding out of my pants and out of the desks at school. I had to start sitting sideways. Funny now, but frustrating then. David was very supportive and willing to help me relax when I got too stressed out. Once the semester was finally over we got ready for Christmas.

We stayed in Utah and spent the Holiday with our Fiso family, except for Christmas Eve dinner which we spent with Rick and Lisa who treated us to a traditional German feast. Delicious! Christmas with the Fiso family was a lot of fun and everybody had a great time opening up presents.

Then three days after Christmas, David and I got the best gift ever, our son Kai. He has brought a lot of joy into our lives and so much love to all who meet him. Poor David, one week after Kai was born he had to start classes. He is now working full time on a graveyard shift and going to school full time during the day. He works so hard and spends all his free time with Kai. His is a wonderful dad and a great husband. Two weeks after school started Mike and Elise got married! It was a fun day and very busy. I had a game to coach and somehow managed to get to the school in between the luncheon and the reception. Elise was a beautiful bride and Mike a handsome groom and Kai charmed all the guests with his adorable face.

Babies are a lot of work, even when there’s just one and David really helps me with Kai when he’s home and I love him for it! Here’s to our happy and busy life together!

Two Weeks

It's amazing what can happen in just two weeks! It's taken me that long to get online to announce the birth of our son!

Kai Fiso was born Decmeber 28, 2008 at 6:05pm and weighed 6 lbs 3 oz and measured 18.25in long. He is so beautiful and amazing. The whole experience was amazing for mom and dad. We love our new little friend and he brings so much love and joy into our home. All three of us were showered with love and attention and I'm so happy to know that my son is so loved by so many. He is such a joy and it's so amazing to think that we created this little miracle

Thinking of Baby

So I'm a little over ten weeks out now and David and I are starting to get really anxious to have this baby. If I failed to mention it before, we are having a baby boy. His name will be Kai and we're really excited. In fact, the whole family is and they've started sending gifts of love already. It's comforting to know that your child is going to be very loved by a lot of people. So thanks to everyone who has sent us gifts. I've posted some pictures of our little baby collection. It's a way for me to release some of my baby nerves. We just can't wait for this little guy to be born. It's going to be hard work, but it's also going to be a lot of fun. At least, that's what we keep telling ourselves.

Thanks for sharing in the baby madness with me. Each day he gets bigger and heavier and I walk with more waddle, but it's fun to feel him move and know that he's alive and healthy. I never knew how happy I would be pregnant and how eager I would be to have a baby, but I'm happy and eager to be a mom.

David and I have been offline for the past two months because we didn't have internet in our apartment until recently. Hence, there has been a lack of posts on our blog and it will take me a while to update everything with school starting.
David is deferring this semester to work full time and keep the bread on the table :) Jesi (myself) is attending BYU full time while working 3 part time jobs on and off campus to keep busy and help provide for our small and growing family. I am looking forward to the busy semester ahead and hope that the little guy will just wait until after finals to make his debut into the world. It should be a fun adventure for all of us.

July 17, 2008 Michael Melvin Fenstermaker was born at 12:07pm weighing 8lbs 10.8oz and stretching to 20.5in. David and I are excited to have a new nephew. I was able to visit Arizona this week and be here with family to help Jen and Adam as their second son was brought into the world. J.D. doesn't understand yet about little brothers, but he soon will and I'm sure it will be an adventure for the whole family. Everyone is excited for this new bundle of joy and I have proof in my pictures...

Jen is doing well and resting from her hard labor. Adam saw Mikey for about an hour before he had to hop a plane to his father's funeral who passed away two days before. Soon the small, but happy family will be reunited and both Jen and Adam will have their hands full with two young, cute, and loud boys. Congratulations to the Fenstermaker Family!

We are excited to announce that we are expecting a new addition to our family! Jesi is pregnant and the baby is due on January 9th! We don't know yet if it's a boy or girl, but we'll be happy with either one. Jesi has good days and bad days, but her faithful husband is always there to support her; whether it be late night cravings or early morning sickness. We're both looking forward to this new adventure in our lives and are happy our families are excited with us.

Summer Time!

Summer is here and with it lots of new adventures. Luckily for all of us, David's hair no longer looks like that, although the middle part of his head has longer hair than the sides it's nicely buzzed. Jesi is finishing up her spring classes and getting ready for a well deserved break.
So far, David and I have been going to baseball games, playing the our Wii (yes, David LOVES it and I enjoy it too) on our new big TV (like Adam said "It takes up the whole wall!" not quite but close, it's a small wall).
We are both excited to announce that we will be moving soon. David is happy to be leaving Provo and Jesi is happy to be closer to the other Fiso's. We're moving to a bigger, cheaper and happier apartment in Orem located in David's parents ward. We're both excited for the move.
This next week we'll be going to Lake Powell and David can't wait to get out on the lake for the first time since last year. He misses the water and riding his wakeboard. Jesi has never been before and is excited to finally see Lake Powell and all of the surrounding attractions. Pictures and more news to come!

Hair-y News

David and I decided it was time for new hair do's. Obviously from the pictures David's haircut has much more dramative effect than mine, but we both have much lighter heads. I am hoping that David realizes how much I dislike the mohawk and cuts it quickly, but he is his own person and he loves the way it feels when he shakes his head and the hair in the back whips back and forth. I like the shorter healthier hair, but I'm already waiting to grow it out long again.

Jesi Sky Diving

This is what Jesi wanted to do for her 21st birthday! She had been wanting to go sky diving since she was 18 but promised her mother she wouldn't until she was 21 and she was able to keep that promise. In her words the experience was, "Freaking Amazing!"

The Best Sunbeam Class

David and I started teaching the Sunbeams

this past January. We have four kids in our

class and one traveler student. The four regulars are Hannah, Jared, Matthew and Annebell, then there's Bryson who comes to class every other week. David and I think that they are all great kids and love teaching them about the Gospel. All of them can be good listeners, but also good noisemakers.

I love the energy the kids have, it can be hard to teach a lesson, but it's very easy to feel love. They all know who Jesus is and who the Prophet is, so I think we're doing okay. It's been a fun experience and it's a good excuse for David and I to bring treats to church, for the kids of course. Here's some fun pictures of our sunbeams. Aren't they adorable?

JESI'S 21st BIRTHDAY

For Jesi's 21st Birthday we got a group of people together for dinner at T.G.I. Fridays. We weren't sure exactly how many were going to show up so we got a reservation for 14 and we planned pretty well, 13 people showed up. It was like the ultimate gathering of friends and family, new and old. There were old roommates, friends from California, a cousin and others. Among the partiers were: Dave, Jesi, Tyler, Caleb, Sarah, Holly, Monica, Sam, Jamie, Michael, Jen, Malorie, and Jason. There were gifts, jokes, fun and an all around good time. Who would have know such a random group of people could have such a good time together. We even got the T.G.I. Friday's staff to sing an upbeat Happy Birthday song to the beautiful birthday girl. Festival of Colors

So, there is this Festival thing out at this Hindu Temple in Spanish Fork that we went to . It is called the Festival of Colors and is located at the Hare Krishna Temple. This is one wicked wild party. As we approached the temple in our car we quickly realized how crowded it was going to be. There were cars parked along side the road miles away from the temple. Lucky for us we were able to find a closer parking place, but then we found ourselves in a line of people that seemed like a mile. The line was to buy bags of "color" which is really just a colored power meant for throwing at each other after they burn this witch looking doll thing. The temple construction was amazing and the crowd there was huge. Everyone crowded around the witch looking thing and once it was lit powder went flying into the air and all over everyone. In one of the pictures you can see the fire and all the color behind Jesi. It was crazy. Jesi got hit pretty moderately while I escaped with just a little bit of color.
I was holding the camera and so I didn't want to get it ruined. Some of the people there left completely painted.
I think we will be in attendance next year as well.

Sammy (Samantha) The Puppy

There has been a new addition to the Fiso Family named Sammy. Unfortunately it isn't Dave and Jesi's Puppy, it is Dave's Families, but she is adorable none the less. Check out these pics of her first day as a FISO! The First is the BEAUTIFUL Jessica Fiso. Second is Aaron holding Sammy for the first time. And the last one is of both of them playing with the new puppy. She is such a funny dog. She follows everyone every where like she doesn't what to be alone. She runs up and down the stairs following anyone that will give her "the time of day." She will be a good addition to the Family.

Jesi's Family Came to Visit

This Past weekend We had some house guests for the first time in our married life. Jesi's Family came to visit for Conference. They arrived on Friday and Departed Monday morning. It was really fun to see family especially since we hadn't seen them since Christmas, which isn't long for some Families, but for Jessica and the Smiths its nearly an eternity. The Not-So-Hostile-Takeover of our Lives!!!

Jessica and I despite the current midterm season here at BYU have found, or made, the time to become completely and utterly hooked on the office. In fact this is the third TV series we have watched together since getting married. First it was my wife's collection of Gilmore Girls, then my collection of House. Now we are on The Office train like many other young college students.

So if we are home then we are either watching The Office, doing homework, or a little of both. The sad thing is that we are now into the third season and will soon be out of episodes...then what do we do? 24? Lost? Who knows? We are just hoping that we will be able to pass all of our midterms and what not since our studying time seems to be getting shorter and shorter. Laters!

End of a Season, Start of an Era?

Jesi has just finished her first year coaching a Freshman Girls Basketball team at Canyon View Jr. High School. The team started off with a triple overtime loss and then took off ripping off victory after victory. Throughout the season they experienced their share of ups and downs but it was ultimately a successful season. In the Tournament at the end of the year they suffered a loss to American Fork in the first round placing them in the Consolation Bracket. Bruised but not broken the Falcons then won out taking the consolation bracket championship including wins over both Provo and Timp View. Their first loss was to Provo and even though they had beaten Timp Twice during the season beating a team for the third time often proves very difficult. Ending the season with a win is always a bonus.

Way to go Falcons...and way to go Coach Fiso!!

Nearly 5 Months

Now I know that we have been married for nearly 5 months now but who doesn't like to see wedding pictures? I just thought an update of what we have been up to is in order...seeing as how we are still newly weds we might have to leave out a few...um...details of what we've been up to.

For our honeymoon we went to Disneyland where we had a blast since we are both still kids inside. When we returned to Provo we moved into our cozy little apartment. Since we were married in September we took the fall semester off from BYU and both started working. David was fortunate enough to get a Day shift job after a year and a half on graveyard. Jesi started working as a teachers assistant at Canyon View Jr. High in Orem, the same school David attended way back when.

The time off from school mixed in with an epic season from the BYU Football team made the first few months of married quite fun. Thanksgiving was spent with the Fiso's in Orem served up with quite the Turkey Bowl prior to eating. Christmas was anything but white (except on one window, thanks Terri) down in sunny California. The vacation was nice but all good things come to an end meaning school started in January. Jesi, who also started coaching the Ninth Grade girls basketball team had to quit as a teachers assistant but continued to coach as she stared a full load of classes at BYU.

Currently we are in the middle of Winter 2008 semester, Jesi is finishing up the season coaching and David is working full time at US Synthetic while taking Calculus and Anatomy and trying to figure out what to do with his schooling and future career. To dispel any rumor there is no baby Fiso on the way yet though many people have asked about it. We will be should to let everybody know when that time comes. Snowboarding...Winters Sweet Slice of Paradise

Oh the wonders of winter, so many to count...

3rd-...Um...maybe there aren't as many as I thought, but those two rock!

This Blog will be dedicated to David's love and passion for snowboarding and will continue to be updated with pictures and videos as the winter continues onward. You know what they say is true, "I need Snowboarding like a crack baby needs cocaine!" Every time I go I just want more!

You know I must love snowboarding if thats where I took my beautiful wife Jessica on a first date. Just check out this picture of her tearing of the slopes only minutes before the slopes tore up her face. Yeah, thats right she face planted on a patch of ice and scraped the skin right off her nose during our first date. I thought she would never go out with me again, but lucky for me she did and look at us now.

Jesi has yet to attempt snowboarding again since the first date but someday I will be able to convince her to give it another go and who knows, she may grow a bigger passion for it than I have. Until then I won't be able to post too many pictures of her on here so you are all going to have to settle for pictures of me and maybe a few friends and family members. I hope you enjoy!

This is a video of David attempting a nose slide on a box at The Canyons. A nose slide is when the front of your board is on the box while you back hang off the side. This means only one of your feet is on the box.

This is a video of David hitting a rainbow rail at The Canyons. A rainbow rail is an arch and going over it can pose a challenge. They are generally more difficult to balance on that a straight flat rail. Also, since it is a rail it is much more narrow than the box seen in the last video where the box was wider than the board, rails are narrower.
